Good hair was great and I think grey gardens would be perfect.

Linda Ronstadt and Pink docs were very good in my opinion
(Also Gordon Lightfoot and Bee Gees but that may be boring for your kids, not sure)
Far from the Tree was heavy but not necessarily depressing, a fascinating look at families coping with children who have various challenges. It was inspiring.. I also liked A farmers Wife on amazon, thoughtfully done.

Check out things from the BBC from Dr. Lucy Worsley (mostly about British history), Waldemar Januszczak (art), Alex Langlands/Peter Ginn/Ruth Goodman (life during different historical periods), or Giles Coren/Sue Perkins (food history.) Sue also has documentaries on life on the Ganges and Mekong rivers.

My personal favorite is "The Act of Killing" which gave me nightmares.

Some lighter ones I've enjoyed over the years are
Word Wars
Spellbound
Icarus
A State of Mind
Hoop Dreams

Thanks-these are great. The only suggested one we’ve already seen is queen of Versailles.

Please share your favorite documentaries! Funny/quirky would be perfect but anything not depressing/disturbing (looking at you, grizzly man) is fine. This is to watch with older teens. Thank you!
