They have decided to run more frequent, empty buses at times during the day when demand is low and less frequent buses at times when demand is high. Some guys on the internet told them that this was the way to go and so they did it. WMATA won’t get serious again until their federal bailout funds are used it. So it will be like this for another year until they face another revenue cliff and then they’ll decide that restoring more frequent rush hour service on Mass Ave will be important again.
