With regard to the "more of her own" comment, in what context did she say that and to whom? To you directly, PP? That seems like a weird thing for anyone to say. From what I can tell, she's fairly well off, so "more of her own" would be high SES AA families?

Of course she's bothered by the attrition. Who wouldn't be? She's pretty clearly trying to get more of the ECE parents to stay. But other than promoting the upper-grades to the ECE parents (which she seems to be doing) and trying to make the school better for all students (which she seems to be doing), what should she be doing to "help the problem"?

I'm beginning to suspect everyone's problem with her is that she's AA and everyone's problem with L-T for the upper grades is that the student population is almost entirely AA. Seriously...can someone explain to me WHY Maury and Brent are so much better? Is it because there are more white kids there? And why are Brent's and Maury's principals perceived as so much more acceptable to and accepting of IB families...because they're white? If there is some real reason that they're better, I'd love to hear it, but from what I can tell, Cobbs is an effective principal and L-T is a good little school, so I just don't get all the vitriol unless it's just a bunch of racist b.s.
