Googled and found handful more teams dropped guidance this week of in summary play on age, playing up is an exception and alluding to the possibility of slight stickiness if Aug-Dec want to stay with their current teams. Clubs are matching the ECNL views; playing up is an exception and a case by case basis but there could be an adjustment period to get teams to getting Aug-Dec playing on age. With nobody being forced to play up and playing up being a case by case situation, looks like this one is over. And in truth, it was always over.
So your unsited research project told you exactly what you were expecting it to. Who could have guessed? Top teams where players are looking to get recruited and playing in college will be grouped by grade.
Go ahead, try Google yourself. See if you find any team grouped by grade other than a girls team in the greater Racine area. I didn't. All the teams going age, allowing case by case to play up. Reminds me of the BY SY debate. Even after the announcements people still could face the music. It's over.
Watch what happens. Clubs will group players on top teams by grade because it gives them the best chances at being recruited. Fight it all you want but committments are one of the main ways clubs, players, and parents define which clubs are the "best".
You've lost complete credibility on your forecasting. Leagues didn't force players to play up and teams in the aggregate haven't forced players to play up. Now you have narrowed it down to saying top teams will be based on grade but that's going against what clubs are announcing and top teams shuffle the decks every year anyway. It's over.
No Ive been 100% consistant saying that clubs will roster teams by grade because this is what college recruiters want. If players on lower level teams choose to play down and clubs allow it. Whatever it doesnt matter.
