Professors at Columbia in one of the most expensive cities in the world are barely middle class. They are erudite, so classy and potentially coveted as friends in corporate circles but they certainly don’t have homes in the Hamptons.

Bronx School of Science is one of the best known, most elite "public schools" in the country. I used to to go debate tournaments where they competed along with the most elite private institutions. You have to be completely ignorant of the markers of wealth/elite circles to buy that he's "definitely not a trust fund kid."  His financial disclosures list small amounts of cash and then things like large tracts of land. Sounds a lot like someone with an age-restricted trust fund. [/quote]
