Looks like Khasoggi's death will force a truce. What a powerful legacy for a man who died too soon.
For three years America has backed a Saudi-led coalition fighting Houthi rebels in Yemen. But international anger over the recent murder of Jamal Khashoggi, a dissident journalist, in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, has focused attention on Saudi foreign policy. On Tuesday James Mattis, America’s secretary of defence, and Mike Pompeo, the secretary of state, unexpectedly asked the Saudis to accept a truce.

Ha! So ironic, considering that Khashoggi was a cheerleader for the Saudi campaign in Yemen as recently as 2016, claiming that the Saudis stand "with the people of Yemen", saving them "from a dictatorship" and a "sectarian" rule - two terms that can be applied so aptly to the kingdom itself. Strange are the ways. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8prUmGPHMc0
