He promised to buy a NYC apt for them and dang if she didn't get him right to that city to start looking. He looks shell-shocked. I wonder if he really thought about how much $$ this relationship would cost him.
FWIW, Joan has already been looking in NYC for apartments to RENT for the next year. The plan was to rent for one year to see how the relationship goes. I loosely know someone who knows Joan well. Joan was looking in NYC back in Sept. I was told that her "budget" was $15k/month. That should get her a decent place.
This is going to be a train wreck. I doubt Chock is going to think it’s worth the expense to keep her, after the excitement of his victory wears off.
Agree. And $15k/month? Not sustainable. Her temporary fame has really gone to her head.
It's not supposed to be sustainable when the plan is to rent there for one year. They have said they will likely get married in late 2025 or early 2026. They know they aren't going to be energetic and healthy enough to commute to NYC forever. I personally think it is wise to put a year trial period on it. Chock strikes me as unrealistically intense about being with Joan, but...so what!? If they break up in 8 mos, oh well...they had fun along the way. If they make it work, then hooray for them. If you can find someone you actually like being with in your 60s, 70s and 80s, that is a miracle to enjoy. They are happy at the moment. Joan is capable of making her own decisions. Let them figure it out.
The Bachelor franchise is not going to throw them a wedding in late 2025 or 2026. Whatever fans they have won't care by then. They'll marry earlier for the money or they just won't at all.
