Are all C4TJ parents total dicks? Or just the one on DCUM?
This is anonymous form. Everyone gets to be a dick! Then, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Unless we put ourselves in others shoes, we do not see things from their point of view. I do not necessarily agree with C4TJ and somewhat partial to new changes, but I do sympathize with them to some extent as I also think changes have a very clear intent of suppressing certain demographic groups (ex: kids attending AAP feeders and middle/upper middle class asians/whites, making it difficult for kids to stand out etc.) and adjusted weights/points for different categories until they reached the desired effect. The recent admission stats confirms it i.e, other experience factors could have taken up at minimum 31% and the maximum of 71% of total admissions (if added separately), but since there will be many overlaps, we could say somewhere in between 40-50% total admissions went to other experience factors, which is very high for any sort of reservation or pre-allocation. So, unless we are on the non-receiving end of the changes, we may never understand why some parents are upset about it. Anyways, I do not expect anyone to agree with my point of view either and agreeing or not-agreeing doesn't make a difference to anyone or anything.
