Let’s sum up your position. No Maret can not have exclusive use right of Jellef because my kid does not go to Maret. My kid goes to Hardy so Hardy should exclusive use right to Jellef. I know the property is not part of the school system but that does not matter. All DC Government resources are there for my private use. I want what I want! Screw everyone else!
Do you know where Hardy teams play and practice now? Takoma Recreation Center. Banneker Recreation Center. Randolph Recreation Center. Do you know what all of those Recreation Centers have in common? They're all run by DPR. There's no question whether DCPS kids can use DPR rec centers, the question is whether kids at Hardy can use the one that happens to be across the street from their school instead of having to take Metro to ones halfway across the city. I'd like to find out what the deal is with Guy Mason Rec Center, which is just a few blocks up Wisconsin from Jelleff. The DPR-DCPS distinction is a complete red herring.
But most of the Hardy kids actually live closer to the rec centers you named. So it’s actually more convenient for them to get home afterwards.
That is completely not true. How ridiculous!
Huh? The school is 73% OOB. It’s kinda actually true...
Do you know that this is a big city? Many people live far from Hardy *and* far from Takoma. Takoma is probably more convenient for Maret kids than Hardy kids, as many of the Maret kids live in-boundary for Deal or, worse, live in Maryland.
Would the kids attending Hardy prefer the athletic fields at their actual IB middle schools?
Or perhaps that would work for the Maret kids? Why do write with such disdain for the Hardy kids? It really seems to bother you that Hardy kids, like Maret kids, play sports and don’t care for endless commutes.
