14 Penn Charter - 4 SR final. SR shut out into 3Q. No doubt Penn Charter started putting in subs. They’re a very strong team.
That’s even worse than the Potomac score. On Penn Charters website, it says that crushed St Andrews. Is that the st Andrews in MD or FL?
The St. Andrews in MD is in the lower division of the ISL. Would have no business being on the field with Penn Charter.
Pretty sure this is the St Andrews in Boca Raton, FL.
Sssas won against the Florida St Andrew’s and Potomac lost to them.
Did Holy Child play them too?
I'm guessing you know the answer, as it would have been quicker to check laxnumbers.com than type the question. But yes, notable that Holy Child beat St. Andrews by a goal yesterday. Smaller margin than SSSAS, but a better result than Potomac, which lost by one in the early going without their full roster playing. I believe a PP suggested Holy Child might be able to give Potomac a game this year when they meet in a few weeks. That said, I believe Potomac will still be favored.
A. The transitive property doesn't always translate well in HS sports - just b/c Potomac lost to St Andrews and St. Andrews lost to HC, HC isn't necessarily better than Potomac. Potomac should be favored against HC - historical performance has to stand for something and Potomac hasn't lost to them in years. B. No team is immune from injury and qualifying a result by concurrently mentioning that Potomac lost and that it didn't have it's full squad (b/c why else mention it) fails to acknowledge that every team plays games/seasons without key players. Don't have the injury report for every ISL team but SR, Visi, Potomac and HC have already played multiple games without starters due to injury and SSSAS has played w/out starters but don't believe that injury related. C. If there's going to be a shuffle in the legacy ISL top 4 (SSSAS, SR, Potomac, Visi) Potomac appears most vulnerable (doesn't mean they'll fall out of the top 4). Bullis and EHS aren't moving out of the basement but Holton is improving and could have lightning strike and do something special against Potomac. We'll have to wait and see what HC brings to the table in a couple of weeks.
