1. “Precision” is relative. Israel is certainly targeting Hezbollah personnel and equipment, but this targeting and the weapons used are inherently imprecise. Also, Hezbollah is embedded in civilian areas, which also means more civilian effects.

2. You, as a US Jew, are relatively safe regardless of what Israel does or does not do. As Americans, containing Iran and its regional proxies is in our national interest. They threaten energy supplies, are allied with Putin, and promote terrorism, and would do so regardless of Israel’s actions.

3. Israel’s actions are clearly NOT about getting the hostages back. Israel is trying to defeat its enemies and permanently change the security situation, which it decided was untenable after 10/7. It is also (wrongly) seeking territorial expansion in the West Bank and perhaps in Gaza.[/quote]
