When you start clowning about the wall or trans children or the caravans of immigrants or whatever resuscitated talking point you receive, please remember that you wrote the above with no sense of self awareness.

“Weird” sticks because it’s organic and true, and it gives a label to the feeling many of us have had about today’s GOP. Your party is freaking weird. They’re not the party of normalcy or honor or decency, they’re just plain weird. You can jump ship, quietly, at any time. No one will know how you vote; you can even leave your signs up and your glovebox full of “I did that” stickers. Go and sit with the Democratic Party platform (in draft form here: https://democrats.org/news/dnc-releases-2024-party-platform-draft-outlining-historic-record-and-bold-agenda-for-president-biden-and-vice-president-harris-to-finish-the-job/ ) and wonder how much better things would be in a normal, functioning party.
