In what way pp? It provides a (cheap) service for families , much needed - especially in this country.

The au pair program is not cheap at all, especially if you have only one child like this couple. This myth needs to die. Daycare is cheaper, and you don't have to house anyone.
Nannies can also be cheaper. It depends on where you live.

The host family spends a minumum of $24K, and most families spend a lot more easily $30K or even $40K. We don't live in the DC area anymore and we are at over $40K plus housing. [/quote]
