I think many 24 year olds have experienced young, blissful, sincere and exclusive love with another single and available person even if only for a short time.  Op has never been "the one" for anyone. She has no clue what it means to be special, cherished, loved exclusively even if only for a short time.  And she is missing out. Big time.[/quote]

She was a TEENAGER when she started seeing this older (at the time engaged) man.  I don't think it's a huge leap to assume that she was pretty inexperienced, terribly naive in the romance department, kwim?
