The nicer neighborhood in that area are Virginia Run, Gate Post Estates, and Union Mill.
When we landed in Greenbriar 15 years ago, we were looking for a mix of price and amenities that only specific neighborhoods had. We also were looking in a fairly small search radius due to our work locations at the time. While you might deem other neighborhoods “nicer”, the list of must haves for us didn’t point us in their direction. My children can walk to all 3 levels of public school. We can walk to the library. We frequently walk up the street to shop or eat and are very close to other shopping centers, as well. There are a couple parks in our neighborhood, as well as a stream trail. The high school homecoming parade goes right past my house. My state delegate is my neighbor, as are many of the school employees. In case of emergency, the hospital is very close. It’s honestly a throwback neighborhood that is also very modern because of its diversity. We’ve done internal renovations to our house, but the space for the 4 of us, 2 animals and occasional visitors is just fine. And we feel very spoiled by the perks of where we are.
