Becky Tuch remains the only ChunkyMonkey with a real and heart-felt apology. Larson probably has been advised not to say anything because of the active litigation. But the others could speak up.
I'm betting they're all feeling pretty ashamed of themselves right now. Usually, shame will manifest in outwardly trying to save face, while inwardly trying to excuse yourself by seeking validation that you didn't do anything wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if there are a lot of private "batten the hatches, we're all so misunderstood but we will get through this, this will only make you a stronger writer Sonya, I can't believe the wider public doesn't fully grasp how much Dawn was stalking Sonya and others" conversations happening between the ChunkyMonkeys right now (and to be fair, that last part may be true), while they all secretly, individually, regret ever having been a part of this. That's just my theory (as someone who doesn't know these people!) but some supporting evidence: In the last 8 or so days since this came out, Celeste Ng has tweeted call-outs for a diaper drive, a drive for refugee children, another donation drive for refugee crisis housing, another link to a wishlist for refugees, another link to resources for those who are in need of meal programs and soup kitchen services, etc. I scrolled back for a long time to see if she'd tweeted or re-tweeted any similar donation drive in the weeks leading up to the article being released, and didn't find anything. Important caveat: I'm not saying Celeste Ng has never shared this kind of content before - I'm sure she has! Heaps probably! And I'm also not saying she doesn't wholeheartedly want to drum up support the drives and gofundmes etc that she's linked to in the past week. I'm just guessing that she probably wants to be seen, and to see herself, as a good person right now, because that's not where the conversation is at, and it's not where her conscience is at either.
