This is what we keep going in circles about.  No one is stealing from you (I misspelled "steal." I must be dumb as a post). Most of the illegal work for very low wages, unprotected, extremely long hours.  Why?  BECAUSE AMERICANS KEEP PAYING THEM.  Anyone who says they are against illegal immigration is a fucking hypocrite.  Stop employing these people to work for you and they'll LEAVE.  See how simple that is.  Instead, they come because they know they'll find jobs.

This country was founded on giving the disadvantaged people a safe haven.  "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free;" Or does that stop with you?  I guess it's all good with the world as long as you are taken care of.  The buck stops with you.

Lastly, as long we don't lose sight of humanity and humility (which I am so sorry does not exists with you and on this thread) we will not turn into the countries some of us escaped.  One of the harshest lessons anyone can be thought is humility, and I wish you would learn it, but I also wish you well.

Sorry, but I remember how well folks prospered about ten years ago with blue collar jobs. Construction workers used to earn a livable wage and could support their families. With the large number of illegal immigrants in the country, wages have dropped so low that it is not a viable field anymore. Why exactly should folks take a 50% paycut for the same work (and the same risks and dangers)? This is happening over a multitude of blue collar jobs. And no I don't think education is the key. Not everyone is cut out for higher education and folks shouldn't be forced to do this because cheap assholes want to exploit illegals. FWIW, I harshly judge those who use the labor of illegal immigrants. I think they should be harshly penalized and possibly even jailed for abetting illegals.

While we were founded on the principles you listed, based on the economic climate in which we now live, it is NOT a sustainable principle. We can't just open the floodgates and take in the disadvantaged of the world. Do you not see the correlation between the terrible economy and the increase in illegal immigrants? You seem to think that illegals work to support their families without any assistance from the govt. You would be VERY wrong. They are draining our public resources and US citizens are suffering as a result.

re: humanity. If you want to talk about humanity/humility and helping those in need, look to countries in Africa and Asia. Now, THAT'S poverty. Would you suggest we take in those people as well? Proximity to the US shouldn't be a determining factor in who gets to come here and escape their downtrodden circumstances. [/quote]
