Nobody here wants to do a single thing new to protect child safety at school unless it's a form of gun control law (that may never become law).

So, in the meantime, a sure way to prevent our kids from being shot at school is to not attend school.  Can home school.  If all kids were home schooled, there would be zero school shootings.[/quote]

Yup. We've totally lost course as a country.

As a teacher, I feel like my job is to teach my subject, try to mentor and guide kids, but not to function as a full parent or security force! I have noted odd and concerning behaviors and shared them with our school counselor, but that's the extent of it. I'm not going to stand up in a classroom and care for these kids and in the next moment be able to whip out a gun and shoot someone dead. Even if a former or current student drew a gun, I'm not sure I could shoot to stop him.[/quote]
