Trump supporters believe that because he declined his presidential salary, he sacrificed a lot of money.

They ignore the fact that because they could not know when the President or the First Lady would visit, the Secret Service was forced to maintain staff and offices/residences for the staff in Trump Tower, Bedminster in NJ, and Maralago.  And Trump forced them to pay for the use of all of those properties.  And they had to maintain those rentals for the entire 4 years he was in office.  There were also no discounted rentals.  The USSS had to pay full rate including peak rates for the two resorts at all locations.  Trump made more money than his presidential salaries at each location from those rentals alone.

But, because the profit was made by the corporation and not him personally, he sacrificed and got nothing back in return.  Yeah, right.[/quote]
+1 And that doesn’t even begin to cover all the money he made at Trump properties, particularly the DC hotel, from GOP campaign and PAC events and foreign dignitaries staying there to curry favor.[/quote]
