And all those people calling him a liar, isn't is possible his memory was foggy because he was drunk?  What's clear is he was in a taxi, it stopped, guys with guns who it appears showed some badges (according to witnesses) pointed guns in their direction.  Eyewitness statements are completely unreliable when people are sober...when they've been drinking, partying all night, and don't have a super high IQ, no wonder some of the details got messed up.

With regard to his "foggy memory" his interview when he said he had a gun to his head occurred about five hours after his return to the hotel. And even in his interview yesterday he refuses to acknowledge that he just plain lied and made up crap. Why is he doing this? He was trying to minimize the fall out but it did not work because he lost the sponsors.

As to the actual account of what happened his cab was never stopped with guys coming at them with guns. This was just crap that the sleazebag made up. Read the actual account of what happened.

Does he regret what he did? I doubt it other than for the financial impact it has had on him which is why I'd like to see him banned from competitive swimming just as a deterrent to others.

It matter because people on this board are claiming that the only reason Lochte is being defended is because he's white and that, if he were a POC (which, btw, he is) we wouldn't be coming to his defense.  [/quote]
