In at U of Oregon with $50k merit aid, in at U of south Carolina (business), in a VCU with $40k merit, in at pitt with $20k. Deferred at uga.
Interesting list and great opportunities! May I ask how Oregon landed on your kid’s list? I’ve heard some kids talking about it and wondering if it’s trending up or how kids from my area (MoCo) are hearing about it.
Not the PP, a new poster whose DC also got into UofO last night with merit. We visited last year and it’s a pretty cool school. Not too big, not too small, big sport culture and Greek if you’re into it, arts programs, STEM, a tad Oregon crunchy granola but not overwhelming + Nike/Phil Knight have put a ton of money into the campus. Dorms and facilities were great. Kid ultimately going elsewhere but it made the list for a lot of reasons. We visited some of the Midwest schools in similar category (Michigan State, Indiana) plus visited Oregon State. U of O had them all beat in DC’s eyes. Felt less rural, too which is interesting because it’s in Eugene and not PDX. If your kid is looking at schools in this category I’d have them look it over online and get an app in.
