So we are going to elect as president a man who tried to overturn the last election? This country is screwed up. Folks, you are going to love the tariffs, lack of reproductive rights, climate change gone wild, internment camps, and violence. Congratulations!
I’m so disheartened. I think Trump will win. It’s like a game to so many older voters. And young voters are so angry.
Blame the DNC for not forcing Joe out after one term.
It's so weird that you think there is some group of people that could somehow force him out. That's not how it works.
Then at the very least, someone should have had a "come to Jesus" meeting with Biden and reminded him of his "only one term transitional candidate" quasi promise.
Look. I wish Biden had not run and that there had been a real Democratic primary. I really thought for the longest time that he would wait until the last possible moment to bow out so that he wouldn’t be a lame duck too early. Unfortunately that didn’t happen. It’s not really clear to me why everyone hates him so much though. He’s such an improvement over Trump and unemployment is low, we didn’t have a recession. But here we are and I think Trump will get elected.
The survey results in NYTimes poll are interesting. Look at this question: "How satisfied are you with the way things are going in your life these days?" Net Satisfied: 74% Net Unsatisfied: 22% I mean, that is a shocking spread. The vast majority of the country is satisfied with their lives. People are really just looking for something to complain about and the media environment bombards them with negative messaging. I think they still come home for Biden. I would be flabbergasted if 77% of country that is "satisfied" with their life dumps the incumbent. Americans just really, really like to whine.
The Democrats are so predictable. If you have concerns about immigration, healthcare, crime, or the economy, then you aren’t an educated citizen expressing discontent - you simply are someone who likes to whine.
I am an independent and do have concerns about these issues. But I think that we need to have a Congress willing to have difficult conversations and actually legislate and compromise. It’s not sustainable to say “deport everyone” (Trump) or shoot shoplifters as they walk out of stores (Trump). The partisanship is not in our best interest and Trump lives for deepening divisions and riling people up. I want leadership that actually points out that there are pros and cons to every decision and then explain why they believe a position is better for the body politic. Citizen United has just made governing a grab bag of corruption.
Allowing everyone in like Biden is is not sustainable and his partisanship isn’t in our best interests.
And Congress needs to address this issue. It’s been festering for decades and is not sustainable. Biden in fact was ready to sign the compromise immigration legislation but Trump tanked it. Because Trump likes partisanship. I really don’t see Biden as being partisan. What makes you believe he is?
