Again, why are folks fixated on the 06 team on here? Who cares what happens at the 14 and 15 year old level? No college coach unless you played on a USYNT (and no, I don't mean this new virtual pool nonsense). These kids will change physically and mentally in a short couple of years, especially now college coaches have learned from their mistakes of recruiting players freshman year of high school just to lock them in, then realize they are not as talented as they age up.
People discuss the team because they’re the best team in the DMV. Of course, things could change and people could move, but as of today, they’re an interesting topic of conversation. And the team’s success is especially notable because BSC hasn’t had a team play at this level since the 01 team.
Yes, everyone in all the land are discussing this team. We talk about them at work and family gatherings. I can’t imagine going a single day without getting an update on how some U15 team is doing.
Haha yeah you’re taking it a bit far. This is a DISCUSSION BOARD and people discuss topics of interest. This board is literally about Bethesda soccer - it seems logical that the 06 Bethesda team would come up. If you don’t want to participate in the particular discussion then go to a different discussion. Problem solved.
In the grand scheme of all things elite soccer, Jeff Cup means nothing. Let’s see how the age groups finish the ECNL season. That is the true measure. Granted, the other age groups are dealing with issues but that is due more to injury, Covid related issues, etc. It would be nice to see the club bring in another high level, respectable, and proven commodity to coach some of the other top teams. dG and KL are spread thin. +1000 I love seeing a crabby parent get destroyed first thing on a Monday. Good post here.
I see Kevin is back with his multiple posts on the same topic. The point here is, this board is also used to "vet" the club by prospective players/parents, so I can see why Kevin pushes the 06 story every time he gets a chance on here. What's the deal with the other age groups? It's not about bashing the 06 players, as they are just kids. The 03, 04, 05, 07s are all falling apart, so my point is, I hope there is some development going on there with that 06 team as it's easy to play 4 games a weekend at that age, but quite a different story to even play 2 games on a weekend where the player then has to mentally withstand that pain at 90 minutes each game and there is no size or speed advantage.
