Back to the immigrant argument. Asian immigrants frequently come to this country with nothing, but the kids go to college because education is a priority. Why should they pay?
No one has he in an answer it this yet...
It's been asked and answered multiple times.
For those who are unwilling to read back into this topic, I will post another reminder: Immigrants who came to the USA two years, or twenty years, ago benefited from American social structures that have baked in racism. These social structures were put in place to keep us from succeeding. If you are an immigrant of any background that came here and benefited from these racist societal structures, then you need to pay back some of the debt to black society that has been accruing for over 400 years. It is not personal, it is factual. This debt is not exclusively owed to us by the descendants of slave owners.
Me, me, me. Give me money. Me, me, me. Hey, if I was born short or ugly can I get money too? You want to talk about true, universal discrimination? Those two characteristics being treated poorly span all races, religions and ethnicities. Short for men and ugly for women. Look, it is horrible that there was slavery in the Americas (and just about everywhere else in the world) but history does not entitle the present. The feds should address their systemic racist housing policies put in place by FDR and FHA back in the 30s and 40s by offering advantageous jobs and education programs to AAs. Other than that, you’re on your own like the rest of us.
