Drip Drip Drip http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/10/10/imran-awan-case-lawmaker-calls-massive-data-transfers-from-wasserman-schultz-aide-substantial-security-threat.amp.html
Well, according to DWS, it’s all because of “Islamophobia.” Nice try, Deb.
Here is the relevant part of Awan's attorney's statement from page 6 of this thread: "Washington, DC: The attacks on Mr. Awan and his family began as part of a frenzy of anti-Muslim bigotry in the literal heart of our democracy, the House of Representatives." What utter BS from his attorney and DWS! Debbie needs to step away from politics entirely.
Islamophobia has certainly played a role -- if you have read this entire thread that is undeniable -- but clearly the primary motivation is the unrelenting desire among Republicans to manufacture outrage and deflect attention from their own political disasters. Again, we have posters promising us that this case -- which currently is no more than a mortgage fraud case and, if you are really lucky, may turn into a procurement scandal -- will clear the Russians of hacking allegations, be linked to Seth Rich, and implicate Hillary Clinton. If you are going to charge the other side with hyperbole, you should have the integrity to look what you yourself have been saying.
I don't think we have seen evidence of Islamophobia playing a role in the actions of law enforcement with respect to Awan. That's the suggestion from DWS and Awan's attorney, right? Crying wolf about wrongful discrimination does real damage. Credible accusations of Islamophobia become less likely to be believed as a result.
