Can't wait to see how it play's out as well. I bet people are already talking through their relationships but the long play can't deny that FVU losing Mclean is a big deal. Mclean held the power in that relationship. Say what you will about the recent few years but as a whole, the recruting to the next level ran through Mclean.
You're wrong here. Mclean SHOULD'VE held the power in the relationship, but they made a horrible deal when they merged. They were left with 1/3 of the power in the Union, which was the problem all along.
Your perspective is just different. In the Union did their word hold weight? Maybe not. But with their departure now and dependent on who goes with McLean on their staff, the power I'm speaking of will be felt. You can't tell me that in the past decade BRYC and VYS trumps what McLean has done for girls. McLean was perfectly fine on the girls side as far as ECNL goes prior to their Union with SYC, allegedly that deal was for the boys, thinking 2 way access to ECNL boys through the Union and MLSN via SYC and giving SYC girls access to the Union. That didn't pan out, but going forward if they do the right things they can be right where they want to be and have a platform for both boys and girls.
I was just refuting what you said about McLean having the power within that relationship construct know as the FVU. They didn't. Hence the problem, because they were the real power/history/etc (at least on the girls side) going into that relationship for sure. In the relationship, however, they were over-ruled every time based on the 2/3 vs 1/3 dynamic as they lost their influence because of the deal they struck. Now they are out of it, and can self-manage moving forward.
Agreed. Also can't forget that GA bringing in McLean also brings in MARS presence.
