He just got shortlisted as a finalist for potential VP two years into his governorship. He's now on everyone's radar whereas he was just another new governor. I'm sure he'll be shortlisted for cabinet positions as well as well positioned for a future run at President. Moreover, he now knows what kinds of issues he'll need to tackle to run the primary gauntlet. Sometimes, the stars don't align just as they didn't for Harris in 2020.[/quote]
