FH lost it's long time volleyball coaches that had built the program into a dynasty ahead of the 2021 season.  For the 2021 and 22 seasons, the coach was a well-known local club coach with a great reputation that inherited and built on the successful program and was able to continue to attract top players. She left ahead of the 23 season and the current coach (who had been the JV coach) took over the varsity team. I have heard that he is a good coach, but I think with all of the uncertainty, they don't continue to attract the same level of talent and a few varsity players left for other schools last year. That said, they still won the 2023 ISL championship pretty easily and I expect they will be good this fall, although perhaps not as dominant as they have been. I think GDS continues to pick up more volleyball talent and Bullis will be strong this fall as well. On the WCAC side, I think both Bishop O'Connell and Holy Cross graduated their top players so it's not completely clear who will be the favorite in the WCAC.

As for future seasons, I think it is up in the air who the next DMV private school volleyball dynasty will be. Could continue to be FH or the circumstances might be right for someone else to take their place.[/quote]
