I also don’t get the comments about AA benefiting white women. Is this in government contracts and positions? For college yes there were women’s colleges but the main reason colleges skew more female now is due to girls getting better grades in school and generally being more involved in school stuff. At some schools you have boys being accepted with lower test scores to keep sexes roughly equal even.
1. AA is about opportunities in education and employment for URM AND WOMEM. Everyone focuses in race (thanks GOP and general ignorance) and tries to forget AA was also set up to benefit women. Who benefited the most from AA, white women. 2. You don't seem to know that better grades didn't necessarily mean acceptance to a university, hence the need back then for women's colleges. Same for blacks and other minorities (eg Jews). Things might have changed now but the history of gender and race based exclusion from academic institutions is real. 3. People lost their lives and livelihood so you can sit comfortably in your ignorance of the struggle they went through so you can get that cushy job and admittance to the college of your choice.
