He could have found upscale temporary lodging in a number of places, but he also basically said he's been helping Kate since Tobey isn't there. It would have been nice if the writers had shown us a glimpse of that rather than just the annoyance piece.[/quote]

Yes, when you stop to think about it, his taking out the trash, helping with one or more kids so Kate could run an errand, all of that small day-to-day help would have been wonderful for her. There's some inconsistency in the writing if Kate is relieved to see him go. Not saying she is, but you'd think she'd worry about doing it all alone.[/quote]

I can see how she'd rather deal with the adulting on her own than have another person under her roof, though (people who look forward to their spouse's occasional business travel, raise your hands)[/quote]
