I don’t use chip, but I have a child with special needs and I know what that means for healthcare costs and family security. I am upset that Schumer prioritises undocumented over locking in the six year chip extension.
The Republicans could put a standalone CHIP bill on the floor at any time and it would pass with bipartisan support. You should be upset that the Republicans are using poor children as hostages.
Standalone chip- I agree. How about a stand-alone budget? Schumer filibustering that one.
Thee bills that would pass are standalone DACA, Standalone CHIP and standalone budget. The dems don't trust the GIP to bring the first two to the floor (both could have been done any time over the past 4 months, but McConnell refused) so are simply asking for these popular bills to be brought together. Why is McConnell refusing? He has already betrayed Sen Collins on healthcare. He is proving to not be a reliable partner in this and it is being exposed, bigly.
