If I really wanted to go to a game at that age and my parents forced me to go to some dumb family thing I wasn't interested in, I guarantee I'd remember that and how mad I was at the time (even if I understand it as an adult.) Kids have thoughts and feelings and opinions too, and sometimes they're not the ones we as adults agree with. Don't assume that because he's a kid he'll just forget all about it in a month. He might go to the party and have a wonderful time and know he made the right choice, or he might go and have a miserable time and wish he had been at the game.[/quote]
