DW with a gamer DH. I used to play games in college. I really like them, but now they simply don't fit into my life. I prioritize showering, working, working out, my kid, my dh, and my unwinding activity, crappy television. But last night I had a 15 minute conversation with my DH asking him about the status he is in in his new game. And DH lets me talk to him about the Bachelor. A lifetime is long time OP, interests change. Don't put all your eggs in one basket dreaming of you and your gamer DW at 60 in your basement playing Halo 30 on your levitating tv or whatever we have then. Find someone who will respect whatever interest is inspiring you in the moment. That is what will last. FWIW you don't sound like someone I'd want to date at ALL. And I would imagine I would have been exactly the type you were looking for 5 years ago. Not a lot of people like to be weighted on one weirdly specific interest/quality.
This is the correct attitude. A good spouse will accommodate the other's interests regardless of how stupid they might personally think they are. I don't get why spouses feel the need to dictate to each other what they should or should not like or do in their free time. Live and let live.
