Please answer the PP question, if you can. Where are the non-federal bathroom facilities near the memorials that would gladly accommodate a bus load of people?  Oh, and the facilities had to be open during the government shutdown, as some of the small businesses in the area also closed their doors due to lack of foot traffic. [/quote]

All are accessible, given they are not wheeling these folks in from wherever they are coming from. THEY HAVE TRANSPORATION - deluxe motor coaches equipped with (wait for it) BATHROOMS.

Hah, you don't know the area or many of these restaurants. You have to be a patron at the majority of these seat down eateries.  Others have signs stating for patrons only and not a public restroom.   Some have keys that you have to request. It's to keep out the homeless from wandering in to use. The whole foods on that list, is this the one at 14th and P?  I did not know there was a closer WF near the mall. There is a Burger King, McAdees closer to galley place, but I don't know if they lock their doors.  [/quote]

Yes, all these facilities would refuse elderly from using their bathrooms - especially war veterans. My MOTHER was able to use a facility nearby that had *gasp* posted signs because she's elderly and people are humane.
