But this is a change this year for FCPS and coincided with the removal of half day Mondays and the switch to hours versus days counting. It is most certainly a trick because they count it as instructional time when no instruction is being given.
Why is nobody outraged by this? ??? I guess the students won't argue about less school time. And I suppose teachers aren't going to argue to give them more work for themselves. That means only the parents to be the advocating voice?
Actually if they get all of the changes they want the school year will be longer! They want to start a full week earlier and still end in the middle of freaking JUNE! Enough is enough. I am with the lady who is ready to move back to states who send their kids to school Labor Day to Memorial Day - my kids are growing up to fast and they deserve a kids life not a freaking adult working life schedule. What the heck is wrong with you people - and yes I said you people!!
This! I think it's sneak and utter BS. Why are they stretching out the school year like this? Part of the reason is moaning parents whose kids do not know how to amuse or conduct themselves when they aren't institutionalized or in a program.
