I'm a high school teacher. I've seen nearly two decades with thousands of kids during that time who were passed along or came from substandard schools. It is astonishing the level of watering down that needs to take place at the high school level to "get everyone to pass" when they come to you with marginal reading comprehension, little critical thinking and lousy math skills.
