So now you do pay her to watch the kids? I thought that was free childcare in lieu of rent?

Also, if you didn't tell her what kind of surgery you were having, how was she supposed to know that you would need help afterward? It sounds like you said nothing to her that would indicate help would be needed, let her go ahead and make travel plans for the weekend, and then expected her to cancel them at a moment's notice when she saw your husband carrying you up the stairs (which sounds awfully dramatic, you weren't capable of walking I question whether you should have been discharged from the hospital at all).[/quote]
