NP here. Because America has engaged in [b]policies terrorists don't like[/b], and also as part of a religious fight. This is well known. Also, to extend your analogy, a lot of the reason terrorists attack America is not America's own fault. ISIS, however, is not attacking American soil, and is attacking other Middle Eastern countries, so motives related to America's actions do not apply.[/quote]

I never said that. "Policies terrorists don't like" would obviously include that. I probably should have listed some. In any case, the probable reason for the murders of Foley and Sotloff is our recent airstrikes, which were completely justified, given ISIS' persecution of the Yazidis.[/quote]

So you want to ignore the root cause, and just focus on the proximate ones.  The fact is that IS would not be in Iraq, maybe wouldn't even exist, if not for the Iraq war.

We clearly are not making the Middle East a better place.  There's a pretty good argument that we make it a worse place.  So given that our overall impact is not good, we should get out and not make ourselves a target.[/quote]
PP here. I know that, but the fact is that ISIS killed innocent people after the US had gotten out of Iraq. Someone has to stop ISIS and save the Yazidis from persecution, and this is coming from someone who was against the Iraq war.[/quote]
