I've always wondered why kid here don't wear hats when it's cold outside. You can see kid sledging for hours without having hats.I've yet to figure out why. Maybe they don't get sick or you have really good medicine in case they do.
Because they don't want to. Apparently, they don't feel cold, because if they did, they would wear the hat. Not wearing a hat doesn't cause illness. Bacteria and viruses cause illness.
Stop parroting information without actually understanding it. Bacteria and viruses are more likely to attack a weakened immune system, which happens when the body has to fight to stay warm. Exposure to cold increases the risk of developing upper and lower respiratory tract infections and dying from them. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17705968 OP, I'm with you.
But a weakened immune system doesn't happen from having the head exposed to 37 degrees for 2 minutes while walking to/from a store. And a weakened immune system can also happen from being overheated.
Please post the resource showing that overheating increases likelihood of catching colds/ respiratory infections, and worsens the severity of the illness. Babies are too young to link the act of taking off clothing with the feeling of getting cold, so if you're waiting for them to learn that lesson, you might have to wait another year, at least.
