PP here, I'd like to add that Christians have had a long history of persecution of Jews and propaganda surrounding their rituals -- see blood libel -- and that is why this is a touchy issue. To ignore that history, or downplay it, is to show an insensitivity to the Jewish people, who believe me, are very educated in their own history of suffering. Especially since Passover is a holiday that for the Jewish people is a remembrance of our suffering throughout time.
No one is ignoring that history. We are well aware of it and MANY of us are appalled by it. I wasn't around during WWII though, so sorry but there was nothing I could do there. What I have tried to do here is explain this link between our faiths - something that could be a bridge and an opportunity for constructive dialogue if you could stop being a reactionary child for two seconds. So PP, yes you do win for being dense. Either that, or for selectively understanding only what suits your predefined narrative. If Christians are getting defensive, it's because you and a few others PATENTLY REFUSE to try and understand what we have been saying. You were clearly looking for a fight, NOT "understanding.". Don't whine because you got the fight you asked for.
