So ... is anybody else wondering if this is problematic? Exploitive? Everyone finds the show heartwarming. And it is. But that is how people felt in the beginning of The Biggest Loser, too. And my goodness, that sure has aged poorly. Adan being publicly pressured by Dani to "do the deed" comes to mind as problematic. Not ok at all.
It's exploitive by certain families like Tanner, Abbey, and Connor. They are all doing it for exposure and hoping to get a social media following. Did you hear the latest drama between Kaelynn (a date) and Tanner's MOM? But for the most part no, they are teaching the public about people on the spectrum and their quest to get a partner. It's filmed documentary style so it's meant to educate, which it does.
What? You think those appearing on the show are doing the exploiting? Ok. Lol. You are quite mistaken -- the production is exploiting those appearing on the show. I guess this answers my question though. I predict this show is not going to age well.
I didn't say that the people on the show are, it's their families, which is very obvious if you check out their socials.
You are really missing it here. But you aren't going to see it, so whatever.
