Does the alternate option pass automatically? Does the alternate need to be voted on? Back to the drawing board?
Everything would stay as it is currently. Back to the drawing board.
They're not going to go back to the drawing board. There is supposed to be a final decision by the end of March. These earlier meetings are the places you'd likely see it coming if they were considering anything else.
Yes, but the question was what would happen in the unlikely event the superintendent's recommendation doesn't pass.
Right, but that doesn't mean going back to the drawing board. No one would vote no without an alternative they are advocating for in its place.
Again this was asking about a hypothetical scenario in which they did vote no.
I’m the one who originally asked this question. It seems no one actually knows for sure. I heard through the grapevine of other parents emailing the board directly to ask this question as well, and no one has received a real response.
Also, I would assume yes they would somehow vote on something else but what exactly? And what’s the process?
The process is that a Board member proposes an alternative at a work session (all of which have passed) and if it gets a majority vote, it is a possibility for them to vote on on the 26th. No alternatives have gotten a vote to be considered.
Except there already is an alternate option on the board. So what happens if h doesn’t pass? They vote on the alternative? Alternative is the default plan? No one knows for sure- why is this so unclear?
Good question. Out of sheer curiosity, I want to know too! Let’s assume on 3/26, majority vote no. Then what? Can they then only vote on one of the previous publically announced options? What if none of those get majority vote? Then what? Can they even propose something different? What if all of that doesn’t get majority vote either? Does the meeting just end? If so, what happens after the meeting ends?
