But, we really want to move when our youngest goes off to college next year. But I think both close in areas are very similar. As for college, it really depends. My one kid is CS/math major, and UMD (our instate) is much better for CS than any of the VA colleges. My other DC doesn't want to stay in state for various reasons, one of which is that UMD doesn't have the major that they want, though VA does. Even so, if we lived in VA, would they have wanted oos like they do now? (this is not a debate on oos costs). VA does have a leg up on MD on college choices.[/quote]
