To me, the biggest takeaway is that evil is real and your childhood conception of it may well be more accurate than whatever sophisticated workarounds you settled on in adulthood. Cleave to God, y’all
AMEN
No thanks. Too many charlatans keep claiming authority in God’s name.
you dont need an organization or another person to cleave to God. What you need is 10 minutes of quiet time, where you sit with yourself and allow the voice of your own conscience to speak to you and then take whatever worries, concerns or exhaustion you carry and direct it outwards in which ever words, images work for you and put them out into the universe and ask providence/god/the force/the universe to take them and to help you and keep doing that as a daily practice. I am a religious person but the thing I know is that NO ONE IS COMING TO SAVE US- we have the tools we need to save ourselves within our own conscious, the right ethical, moral action is already embedded within human beings - blaming it on a supernatural force (that I call Allah) is a recipe for what we have now- catastrophe. Cleaving to God means believing in your own capacity for good and right action and then following through and putting pressure on the peers that be and demanding that they dont give a pass to bad behavior, and taking a gamble on change maker, outsider candidates to replace the old guard. power corrupts, no-one should remain in office for longer than a decade/2 senate terms, they should be switched out for someone new and you should trust your instincts and not look the other way when you see wrong or questionable behavior. 3 actions- if you can stop it, stop it, if you can speak out, speak out, lastly if you can do nothing- avoid the bad actor/stop supporting them immediately. we cannot stop this but we can speak up and we can throw out the people who enable this kind of behavior.
stop supporting synagogues that fly the Israeli flag!
