There are teenage employees still living with parents, or single people living with roommates. They don’t need as much to live on as a single mom with three kids who needs an apartment or house. Does that mean the minimum wage should be set according to what the highest need is? Walmart should pay everyone as if they are feeding a family of four? What if someone just isn’t ever going to be highly efficient or productive? Would you be happier if those individuals are unemployed and receive welfare?
