For the non bougie people who can't afford a hotel room that is over $700 a night, we all loved YMCA Estes Park. Totally reasonably priced with lots of activities that were included or really affordable. It borders Rocky National Park in Colorado set on 860 acres. We went fly fishing, indoor and outdoor rock climbing/high ropes adventure, played tennis, hiked, etc. I would love it if other people listed places that were under $300 a night.
The Fairfield Inn in Pacifica used to be an incredible deal. Right on the beach, easy to get to SF or Half Moon Bay, under $200/night. Sadly every hotel now seems to be above $300/night unless it's a down time or an area you don't want to stay in. Even roadside hotels near holidays are well over $200/night.
