It's fascinating to me that there is so little perspective on oneself that you don't even realize different places have different cultures. Yes, including Virginia EVEN THOUGH YOU RAISED YOUR KIDS HERE. These are the same people who would trash U Alabama or whatever. [/quote]

Born and raised Virginian here and I assume it’s like an accent — I don’t hear one, but if I go to New York I’m told I have one.

I don’t have an issue with saying there’s a “Virginian feel” even if I have no idea what that means. I have an issue with someone being disdainful of Virginians, however. The daughter doesn’t seem to like Virginia or Virginians, so she should probably not go to school here. [/quote]
