Why? Maybe this will prompt ice members to think twice about killing abducting and beating up other human beings
I think the government should prepare a publicly searchable database of all non-authorized immigrants, with entry points, time in country, removals, charges, known family, jobs, addresses, use of services, among other elements. I don't actually believe this should be done, but if we are putting one group at risk, let's put all groups at risk. That's what the Internet is for, right?
But you’re starting out with a false premise. ICE was never “at risk” before they started rampaging through American cities masked and waving around their guns. Now ICE has escalated exponentially in Minneapolis with extrajudicially executing a U.S. citizen and all the other BS ripping people out of cars and beating people up. This problem started at the beginning of Trump’s second term when Miller wasn’t getting the numbers he wanted. Of course, the government should know who is entering the country and for the most part it does. The overstay and illegal work issue wouldn’t be a problem if we did e-verify. But somehow no one who complains about immigration ever wants to do that. And finally civilians have privacy rights that federal employees do not.
