22:49, odd, that's our kid's doctor, and she sent out a letter saying she could not continue with her!
What was the status reason?? Seems unethical to stop treatment without ensuring patient has care in place
In an ideal world, it would be different, but in America, doctors close practices and/or switch practices, sometimes on very short notice, and patients just need to find other arrangements...
As a provider it feels weird- when someone leaves the practice I work at they offer for patient to follow or help them arrange alternative option
Exactly. I'm an SLP and I think this could be considered client abandonment in my field. Health care providers cannot just abruptly pull the plug in a disorganized fashion like a 7-Eleven. There are rules and codes of practice for doctors, psychologists, etc. My own specialist informed me of her impending June retirement at an appointment today and I've been given a choice of two other doctors in the practice to continue my care. I have 6 months to decide which one I prefer. Here's the Maryland Board of Psychologists link to filing a complaint: https://health.maryland.gov/psych/Pages/complaint.aspx
