And before anyone asks why international, they have traveled extensively in the USA: Boston, NYC, LA, SF, Seattle, Moeb, New Mexico, Park City, Austin, Texas Dude Ranch, Texas Hunting Ranch, Vail, Breckenridge, Denver, Carmel, Big Sur, San Diego, Martha’s Vineyard, Jersey Shore, Keys, Disneyland, Disneyworld, Jackson Wyoming, Philly/Hershey Parks, Williamsburg
My son LOVED Glacier National Park. He also loved Scotland.
Can you do glacier in November, December or March/April?
We hiked in Glacier the last week of October. There are very few people there then. It was beautiful. On our first day, we did not have hiking poles. We are in our 60s and there was some snow on the ground so we stopped in Kalispell and bought hiking poles for day two. I made sure we brought food and water on our hikes as there were not many people around. If I had to do it again, I would carry one of those Epirb hiking devices that you activate if you come into trouble. The Ranger station closed the day before we went into our hikes. We managed to talk to the Rangers about areas that were still open. In off-season I recommend staying in Whitefish and driving over each day.
Sounds like a great trip but not very useful in this thread given OP explicitly stated their time parameters.
